At current, I’m approaching party overload as I’m building my calendar of sessions and events I’ll be attending at SXSW. The meet ups and parties are just as important as sessions at South By. It’s a great place to meet up with old friends and meet new ones especially when it comes to niche events. I’m a sucker for smaller venues as I can only handle the loud dance music so many late nights. I guess that means I’m getting old or just getting smarter as I’m in Austin to make business contacts, relationships and further grow my business not just to get drunk and party.

At SXSW, there are parties galore and it’s hard to figure out what’s good and what is bad. Who’s interesting and helpful especially for the HR, recruiting and leadership industries. Well, we’ve got you covered. Really. These parties have the Blogging4Jobs seal of approval when it comes to fun, exciting, and never dull parties at SXSW.

For the first time this year non-SXSW badge holders aren’t excluded for all SXSW events. You can register for a free guest pass to gain access to the SXSW creative job fairs, expo hall and a number of parties. Details by clicking here.

For anyone in the technology, startup and social media space, SXSW is a must. The SXSW Conference is right around the corner. This year the national conference is being held from March 8-12th in Austin and if you haven’t registered yet, get over to SXSW.com and get on it!  Party information is listed below, but if you’d like to stay current with party reminders and new events as they surface, text SXSW to 55678.

SXSW has something for everyone from startups, PR, Marketing, developers, designers, dreamers, and even HR and recruiters.  As with anything, it’s the people you meet and the networking that goes on form being able to relate to people in a conference setting. A very important part of that are the conference parties and after hours events.

HOW TO NAVIGATE SXSW INTERACTIVE AND PARTIES

My secret to conferences including this year’s SXSW Interactive Media conference is simple.  I try to make it into my room just before 2:00 AM.  I’m not the first to go home from a night out among my friends, and I’m not the last.  I sleep five hours and am up by 7:00 AM and back into the conference folds by 8:30 AM.  I eat, attend sessions, demo products, and meet with new friends, contacts, and old ones.

Around 4:00 PM I am dragging so I wait for my second wind except that it doesn’t happen.  I head back to the house we’re renting this year to grab a couple hours of sleep.  I’m recharged, refreshed, and just in time for dinner and the night life all over again.

Because of the sheer size of SXSW Conference (it’s 40,000+ attendees strong), there is a lot going on especially after hours.  Let me tell you those SXSW parties do not disappoint.
