Happy Birthday to us! As of September 17th Blogging4Jobs turns 7 years old! Blogging4Jobs started in 2007 with this one blog post:
Over the course of seven years Blogging4Jobs would evolve from a resource primarily for job seekers to one of the most recognized blogs in the HR & Recruiting space. As the founder of the blog Jessica had no idea what she created or what the blog would turn into a mere seven years later. I started working with Blogging4Jobs in June of 2010 and even of the course of 4 1/2 years the blog took on a new look, new focus, and we’ve grown from a three person writing machine (Jessica, Rayanne Thorn, and myself), but to one that encompasses 25-30 regular contributors who contribute once or twice each month.
Let’s take a trip back in time!
Who doesn’t love taking trips back in time? Just because it’s fun to use the wayback time machine, I have captured some screenshots of the before and after of Blogging4Jobs as it developed over the years, but before I do, if you want to read the posts that started it all, go back and check out the old site on Blogspot.
September 2007 – June 2009
See above post. When Blogging4Jobs first launched it black and dare I say….a terrible green. We’ve gone from Bloggingforjobs to Blogging4Jobs in just a short span of a couple years. Jessica tells me that her favorite post on the old site can be found here. To give you a preview it’s about how LinkedIn is a must for job seekers. Does this advice from all those years ago still hold true? I think so.
July 2009 – April 2010
April 2010 – Late 2013
Late 2013 – Present
Uh…You’re looking at it! Our newest launch gave Blogging4Jobs a well-deserved facelift. As we enter a new era for the blog and everything we’re doing it was time to update the look of Blogging4Jobs one last time (who knows..maybe another 5-10 years we’ll rebrand again). This was my favorite rebrand because it allowed us to focus on providing more resources and tools for practitioners in the space. We’re growing out of just providing content and really showcasing our writers skills and knowledge as we start putting together more resources that’ll help with day-to-day functions of the HR practitioner.
I asked Jessica for one quote to put in this post and I think she nailed it perfectly for all entrepreneurs out there who have some vision or dream and why they should just go for it. You never know how one fateful post on blogspot back in 2007 would change your career forever.
I’ve always said that my blog was hands down the best thing I have ever done for my career.
