More than two and a half years ago, I join the blogosphere and created my first HR blog, BloggingforJobs. I created my blog as a way to have a voice, be seen as an expert in the HR and recruiting industries, and engage with job seekers and HR professionals. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine how the HR and social media worlds would collide with me, Blogging4Jobs and my company, Xceptional HR landing in the middle of the evolution.
The social media storm has landed squarely in the laps of HR professionals and HR Evolution was born. HR Evolution is an unconference for HR bloggers and social media enthusiasts being held in Louisville, KY at November 6-7th, 2009. The unconference was born after the National SHRM Conference featured a HR Blogging panel. With the help of SHRM COO, China Gorman who moderated the panel, it was clear that HR blogging and bloggers are here to stay. The HR Evolution conference founders, Ben Eubanks and Trish McFarlane decided to take the blogging panel one step further and create a format where HR professionals who are interested in social media can come together.
