Ep 66 – Secrets to Workplace Teamwork from NASA Rocket Scientist, Adam Stelzner (@Stelzner)

We all know that hiring isn’t easy and once you’ve built your team the expectation to perform now hangs over everyone’s head. We’re all striving to develop, lead and engage with our team members to drive the best results, ROI and productivity.

Never is that more true with today’s podcast guest, Adam Stelzner. He’s a NASA rocket scientist who works on multiple missions on Mars. He and his team mates not only built rovers but dealt with situations and scenarios that were absolutely unknown with the expectation they would perform. Makes the current project I’m collaborating on just a little old thing.

Great Teams Are Built Understanding Strengths & Weaknesses

Adam tells us the key to great workplace teamwork is understanding that human beings are fundamentally social beings. The great works of humanity are done together. A great team is a team that understands the strengths and weaknesses of the team and brings themselves their beliefs, passions and intellect to bear on this joint and shared effort.

Adam has some great stories he shares on how he worked his fellow scientists with several of them included in the book. Listen to his podcast. Your team and your brain will thank you for it. I love his approach to teamwork, team building and leadership exepectations, and I think you will too. Connect with Adam on LinkedIn.
